Darling won't you go

I've really got to stop shaving a day or two before I intend to go look at a new church on a sunday. Three times in the last month very helpful old ladies standing at the entrance of their church have taken it upon themselves to welcome me to their churches. Each and everytime, after the initial greeting and handing of church newsletter a worried look crosses their face. Generally at this point I try and sit down somewhere near the back, whereupon they inevitably reappear behind me, and start saying how the young people usually sit over the otherside of the church. Now, I've learnt from experience that this isn't them being rude, and telling me I'm in the wrong place and I should go sit elsewhere, but rather them trying helpfully to point me to someone my age I can speak to. Now while I love the fact they try and make feel at home I can't help feel slighty offended. Their is always part of me that wants to say "Thank you very much for pointing me towards the group of 14 year olds over there, but I think I'll manage sitting over on this side of the church. And while I'm at it, would I look older if I grew a beard?"
The most welcoming church I've been to lately (and the person who welcomed me at the door was a helpful old lady who handed me a notice sheet) was colchester road baptist church simply because after I said hello to the welcoming people and sat down, some guy behind me said hello and started talking to me about jobs and houses. I wasn't particularly interested in either, but it was nice way to be treated.

You'll like City Church then, we have no 'young people' just students. No need to go without shaving.
