I'm sure my computer knows I've been cheating on it. I turn it on this morning and it's all like sullen. Any second now a windows error message is going to pop up and say "warning: you were playing with that console all day yesterday weren't you?" and I'll have to click yes. It'll know I'm lying.
As it is it decided to remove all the network connections on my computer (it says it's because my bluetooth device over-rode them all, but I know it's lying) and then prevent me from rebooting properly.
If we didn't have such a history, and we weren't so tied together for financial reasons, I'd so dump it for a younger model. Possibley even a mac.

Mac's rock. And os x is based on linux.
OS X isnt based on linux, its based on the mac file structure. You confusing it with its Open Source structure.
On futher research it appears that MAC OS X, is based on the UNIX shell or Possibly the Kernal.

I thought Linux and OSX were both based on Unix
They are both based in simular ways, however linux is all open source, so anyone can change it and make their own version (distribution) where as afaik MAC OS X + cannot do such a think (I do not know a great deal about Mac's, but il have a look at my mac bible) I should imagine they both are very simualr because they provde a 'shell' (e.g. Bash) which enables you to comunicate with the kernal, and run commands. They are also very simular in their customability.
