Naming and Shaming

This is a public service announcement:

Eating before 9:00am at restaurants in Ipswich is not a good idea. The following shops that promise cooked breakfast do not open until 9:00 at the earliest:

  • BHS

  • Littlewoods

  • Debenhams (previously opened at 8:30 but has put the time back to 9:30 as of late)

  • Woolworths

  • Reflections

On top of that, Woolworths serves the nastiest breakfast I have ever had the displeasure to eat. The bacon tasted of nothing but salt, the eggs weren't runny and the mushrooms tasted like plastic that had just been washed in lemon fresh Fairy Liquid. On top of that Tomato Ketchup was being charged at 10p a sachet. I am not angry, I'm just seeking to make my point known.

Paul

You should have eaten at home, it would be cheaper AND you would be able to do the washing up! Double the fun for half the... bum?

Benjamin

Personally, I would find eating breakfast in Ipswich quite inconvenient, as would most students studying for a degree in the city of Oxford...

Hayles

or...... remember the bacon!!!

Sparticus

The bacon, oh i wasn't going to mention that, too terrifying to mention. Oh dear me... The bacon....

Paul

Sparticus and Hayles have been having an Ipswich breakfast rendezvous.

The above maybe libelous and or slanderous. Which ever one is the right one for stuff on the Interweb. If this is so I can only apologise, and hope that one day you can all find it in your hearts to forgive me.

Sparticus

Slander! In fairness though we did go out for breakfast together WITH TWO OTHER PEOPLE.

mmmm capslock.

Paul

Capslock for breakfast? An unusual choice.

Edna

As i am a geek, i am going to make a post which refers to the slander/libel comments...

...first of all, i believe the applicable offence would be libel. libel refers to written word; slander to spoken. this is written, ergo, libel is the relevant contravention of law.

Secondly, i do not believe that the breakfast rendezvous comment was in the least bit libellous, as it is factual, and the two involved parties revealed this fact to us all. ipso facto, it cannot be libellous.

This is all i have to say on the matter

Paul

So I didn't need to go to all that effort to protect myself from retribution? Great! Now I can post everything I want to on here!

a)Edna is an anagram of the real Phil Brown

b)Gareth Smells of mud

3)I should find some work to do

d)Don't look at me that way, it was an honest mistake

e)Mark isn't Welsh, he's a spy from MI6, and he's watching us all right now

Edna

actually paul, you cannot post whatever you like without the possibility of a libel case being drawn up against you. For there to be no case against you, you need to be able to prove that your comments are entirely factual, which you certainly cannot with the whole "Edna is an anagram of the real phil brown" comment, and i suspect that you also could not with the whole MI6 thing too.

Now i could not possibly take offence on the anagram thing, although it is untrue, because it is no attack on my character - it is merely a misguided attempt at rearranging letters.

But Mister Walley could certainly be offended by your comments, and they could ideed cause some discrimination against him. Therefore, he may have a strong libel case against you.

So i think your comments were unwise, and could land you in trouble in the long run. Be more careful in the future

Paul

I smile in the face of danger, because I'm too scared to laugh.

number f) the real Phil Brown hasn't really got a face, he put all his face into peoples drink when he was working in the pub.

and 9) noodles have a high aphids content, and one bowl can give you 54% of your aphid RDA.
