Four Squad Cars

I just witnessed eight police officers with four squad cars deal with a homeless man and a public toilet. In fairness immediately afterwards one of the officers said "What, it takes four squad cars to deal with a homeless man and a public toilet?" which endeared him to me greatly. Also in fairness he might have said "bathroom" not toilet, but I'm increasingly confused as to whose expressions are whose, so let's leave it at that.

Nuke 'Em

Found out from a girl staying at the hostel. Her former High School was Richland High School, located in Richland, Washington. Richland is a former closed town, in that it was closed to prevent the leaking of secrets surrounding the town's main industry; that of researching nuclear weaponry during WWII. Officially Richland High School's mascot is a B-17 bomber that the town paid for in the second world war. Officially. Unofficially the school's mascot is a mushroom cloud. And when I say unofficially I mean that it appears on school letterheads, on the Richland High official website, on the school clock and slightly implied in the mosaic of the atomic bomb that dropped on Nagasaki in the foyer of the school. Also it's slightly implied in the chants at American football games, chants such as "Nuke 'em till they glow". The best thing though, are the official school jackets you can buy that say "Made in America tested in Japan" on them. God Bless the USA.
