A Week In

So it's roughly a week since my copy arrived to the office and I stuck the dvd in the drive. A few comments:

  • Everything feels faster and more responsive, even if that is just an illusion, it's still nice. Certainly there's none of the lose of control you occasionally felt like you got in the previous version
  • It's very reflective and transparent. Not quite a Windows Vista sort of effect, but the excessive use of capitals and transparencies (which have been mentioned on a thousand other sites) are a tad annoying. This is proper software, not play school kiddy stuff.
  • A lot of the fuss over different bits and pieces is just because people aren't used to them.
  • It's nice to have Newcastle properly licensed, and I do love the fact you can play the formation straight off and don't have to always change Luque for Martins or Owen like you used to. Alan Smith is nice to have too.

Mark, this make no sense. You really ought to say what you are talking about. Ie mention Leopard. And where does newcastle come into it?

See, I originally thought Leopard, then FM 2008, and finally realised it was PES. You are a tricky boy, Walley. And if the rumours about your abandoned trip to Newcastle are correct, dirsgraceful.
But I love the new PES. Hate the menus and the commentry, but the gameplay is harder, and more realistic. Despite the over use of yellow cards (and punch-happy keepers (as usual), I like it. A lot

I haven't cancelled a trip to Newcastle? I'm going some point in the new year. Also, I like the new commentary. The menus are dire though.

Where You Take Part

You have two options in expressing yourself publicly on this site. If you have a new fangled blog type website (like this one) you can write what you want to say on your own site and link to this entry. I'll register that you've written something about it and provide a link to it below (this is called a trackback). If you don't have a website or just don't want to waste its time with me then you can add a good old fashioned comment. Fill in the blanks and press go to make your opinion heard among handfuls!

Caveats and the such

A few lines need to be said here. I'm currently a youth worker, therefore I have to watch how I interact with young people. Therefore if you're a young person whom I know through work you need to ask your parents permission to comment on this. That sucks I know, but it gives you something other than voting and drinking to look forward to when you hit eighteen.

All the views expressed here are opinions of whoever wrote them. They also are copyrighted to you under law. However, because you're nice by commenting on this you agree to have your views licensed under whatever creative commons licence this website is.
